Elizabeth Petterson is a seasoned commercial litigator whose diverse legal background benefits the firm’s clients. Ms. Petterson represents clients in both basic and complex commercial litigation matters covering a broad array of business and real estate subject matters. Her ability to readily identify issues, develop litigation strategy and aggressively pursue and protect the interests of her clients are only some of the reasons why Ms. Petterson is retained to prosecute and defend disputes.

Throughout her legal career, Ms. Petterson has represented limited liability companies, corporations, banking institutions, title insurance underwriters and individuals as plaintiffs and defendants in a range of contract disputes, tort actions and post judgement execution proceedings. She has extensive experience in litigating and resolving all manner of commercial litigation. In her litigation of real estate and construction law disputes, Ms. Petterson routinely represents developers, owners, contractors, landlords and tenants in breach of contract and tort claims, including indemnification actions, premises liability actions and eminent domain matters. Ms. Petterson has litigated numerous jury and non-jury trials.

Ms. Petterson’s deep skillset allows her to effectively undertake each step of the litigation process, including drafting petitions and pleadings, drafting discovery, taking depositions, drafting and arguing dispositive motions and taking cases to and through trial. She also has extensive experience in pre-litigation negotiations, settlements and alternative dispute resolution.

Receiving her first law license in 2006, Ms. Petterson is licensed to practice in Texas, Tennessee, Florida and Washington State. In addition to her law firm experience at Bricklemyer Smolker & Bolves PA, Petitt Wolfe Craine Worrell Porter LLC and Sims Funk PLC, Ms. Petterson’s professional background includes serving as a Judicial Intern for Federal Magistrate Judge Mark A. Pizzo, arguing cases for the State Attorney’s Office of Florida and volunteering with Community Action Stops Abuse (CASA) in providing assistance to victims of domestic abuse in the procurement of injunctive relief.

Ms. Petterson earned her B.A. from the Master’s College (Summa Cum Laude) and her law degree from Stetson University College of Law (Cum Laude).
