Heather Kramer brings to the firm her 20 years of experience as a labor and employment attorney. As an Of Counsel to the firm, Ms. Kramer represents companies in all types of human resources related issues. Her extensive experience with companies such as Texas Instruments, FedEx Office and Blockbuster make Ms. Kramer a valuable resource for clients of the firm.
As Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Blockbuster, Ms. Kramer advised the company on employee relations issues, discipline and discharge, accommodations, leaves of absence and contingent worker issues; she drafted, negotiated and approved various agreements, including service contracts, non-disclosure agreements, executive contracts and separation/settlement agreements; she advised the company on reductions-in-force and compliance with the WARN Act; she provided guidance on the application, interpretation and enforcement of federal and state labor and employment laws; she drafted, revised and implemented human resources policies in order to ensure compliance; and she managed administrative charges of discrimination and harassment with the EEOC, DOJ, and other agencies, including conducting and supervising investigations, determining strategies and drafting position statements, representing the company at mediation and fact finding conferences and negotiating and drafting settlement agreements.
In the capacity of a contract attorney, Ms. Kramer advised FedEx Office and Texas Instruments on various human resources and related issues, including accommodations, leaves of absence, employee relations matters, criminal background checks and discipline and discharge; she drafted, revised and implemented human resources policies in order to ensure compliance with applicable law; she drafted separation/settlement agreements and she provided guidance on the application and impact of various federal and state labor and employment laws.
Ms. Kramer started her legal career in 1997 serving as a briefing attorney for Justice David Richards of the Second Court of Appeals of the State of Texas. She then joined Kelly, Hart & Hallman, LLP before moving to David, Goodman & Madole, P.C.’s business and employment litigation group.
